Do you also find it difficult to stay informed about exciting developments and breakthroughs in the broad field of Life Sciences, simply because you don’t find enough time to also read the literature outside of your own research area? And are you looking for ways to change this situation? Then it's time to…
Join the Cell Biology Journal Club!
This Journal Club consists of currently about 25 scientists with a general interest in Molecular and Cellular Biology. Every second Thursday, we meet from 9.15 to 10.00, and one person presents one or several related exciting research articles of broad interest. The papers discussed are typically recent publications from top journals.
Why is this an efficient way of keeping yourself informed? The calculation is simple: once every year have to invest time to prepare a presentation for the others, but 15 times per year you will get served a nice presentation of a hot topic. An additional goal of the Journal Club is to bring together scientists from different Institutes here in Bern and therewith actively contributing to the establishment of an open and intellectually stimulating life science community.
No matter if you are professor, senior scientist, postdoc, PhD or Master student, if you are interested, please contact me to join the mailing list (oliver.muehlemann@izb.unibe.ch)
P.S.: MSc and PhD students can earn ECTS and GS, respectively
